Job Description

When on the road, PSS drivers enjoy the comfort of driving our 2023 Freightliner Cascadia Truck equipped with refrigerator, microwave, air fryer, and full-size bed. Our Motive Fleet Management System provides hassle free hours logging for increased efficiency. Our drivers enjoy weekly home time, paid vacation, sick time, and holidays. PSS also offers medical, dental, vision and life insurance after 60 days of employment along with 401k with company matching after 6 months of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drives Straight Truck to deliver above ground industrial storm shelters from manufacturing center to customer delivery locations nationwide

• Hauls empty trailers back to headquarters in Salem, Il.

• Unload, drop, anchor and install shelter using lifting device

• Must communicate effectively with clients to ensure satisfaction upon delivery

• Communication and coordination with dispatch

• Verifying loads for accuracy

• Securing cargo to truck

• Safely operate company vehicle abiding by traffic laws

• Ensuring mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected prior to trip

• Compliance with DOT rules and regulations

• Promptly reporting any accidents, defects or violations

• Daily maintenance of truck

• Performance of pre and post-trip vehicle inspection reports

• Submission of company monthly vehicle inspection report with photos

Qualifications

Requirements

• Currently residing in Salem, IL or surrounding area

• Class A CDL with Air Brake Endorsement

• Clean driving record

• Ability to pass pre-hire and random drug screenings

• Long distance driving

• Commitment to safe driving

• Ability to communicate effectively and positively

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Must be comfortably able to endure up to 3-hour periods of physical labor including,bending, pulling, standing, lifting, squatting and reaching

• Must be able to comfortably operate power tools

• Must be able to work in hot, humid, dry, wet and cold environments

• Must be a non-smoker and non-user of any tobacco products
