Job Description
This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance for all manufacturing operations. Provide assistance and responsible for machine troubleshooting issues. This position will repair, service, and maintain the plant and plant equipment while ensuring food safety, HACCP, and GMP program compliance.
- Replace, repair, adjust, and modify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment.

Repair and maintain conveyor systems, production machines, and equipment.
- Monitor assigned lines and troubleshoot equipment.
- Test parts, assemblies, equipment, and systems for proper operation, make all necessary adjustments and record all modifications.
- Use precision measuring and testing instruments
- Identify and record defects to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
- Assist production operators with equipment set-ups, answer calls from the warehouse, process and packaging line as needed
- Read, understand and updates shop prints and specifications referring to manufacturer manuals for servicing, installation of equipment and distribution systems.
- Assist outside Trades / Specialists with repair, replacements, adjustments, installations, modifications to equipment, machinery, wiring, piping, tools, and infrastructure as directed.
- Completes pass-over with previous and incoming technicians to ensure continuity from shift to shift.
- Initiate parts ordering, equipment, tools, and complete purchase requisitions to maintain parts inventory as needed
- Inspect work and work area, perform clean-up using proper tools and equipment, according to approved methods /procedures.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain clean and safe working environment in accordance with Company policies and procedures
- Complete all required paperwork / data entry, and secure equipment
- Follow all plant and corporate safety and food safety policies and procedures
- Understand time sensitive escalation procedures.
- Create and close out own work orders and add specs info to SAP system
- Control inventory parts and write requisitions using the SAP system.
- Be proficient at sanitary TIG welding.
- Repair and install electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
- Responsible for any other tasks/duties as directed by your lead.
Qualifications
Must have intermediate knowledge of, but not limited to:
1. Drive train - belts, pulleys, sprockets, and chain
2. Electrical - 110 single phase and 480 & 230 v3 phases
3. PLC Troubleshooting
4. Motor control circuits
5. Fabrication - sanitary welding (TIG), grinding, assembly
6. Hydraulic - motors, pumps, valves
7. Pneumatics - air valves and controls
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Work in a team environment or independently
- Ability to train production employees, other mechanics and trained by other mechanics, attend continuing education courses.
Salary & Benefits
3rd Shift
$23.20-$39.73 per hours (includes $1.00 shift premium, pay rate determined by experiences)
