Job Description
The Republic of Tea is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our TEAm. Working hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This position will require an employee to be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and equipment associated with the Republic of Tea operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Initial Responsibilities (First 90-180 days)
- Preventative maintenance tasks across the production lines and facility equipment
- Support installations of motors, gearboxes, and basic mechanical components
- Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics and process diagrams
- Perform basic diagnostics using voltmeters and hand tools
- Ensure tools and work areas are maintained in a clean, safe condition
- Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures and adhere to safety policies
- Shadow senior technicians to build knowledge in troubleshooting machines within the facility
Development Responsibilities (3+months)
- Begin basic PLC and HMI troubleshooting with team support
- Installation of motors, VFDs, and other electrical/mechanical equipment
- Support small-scale electrical conduit installations
- Participate in equipment upgrades, safety improvements, and process improvements
- Learn and apply NEC, NFPA 70, and industrial safety standards
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 – 5 years of experience in maintenance, mechanical repair, or technical support roles
- Foundational understanding of electrical and mechanical principles
- Willingness to learn PLCs, VFDs, and controls through hands-on and classroom training
- Strong attendance and commitment to personal accountability
- Basic computer literacy for CMMS and technical references
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work within a team
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma, or equivalent GED.
- Trade school, technical certificate, or relevant degree
- Previous experience in manufacturing, food & beverage, or facilities maintenance
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, basic welding, or automation exposure

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to push maintenance cart containing up to 100 lbs. daily.
- Able to lift 65 lbs. on own up to 4 or 5 times daily.
- Comfortable working on ladders and elevated lifts (6’ – 25’)
- Must be able to operate power tools safely and confidently after training
- Able to stand or walk for long periods.
