Job Description
The Human Resource Generalist will be a collaborative member of the HR department, while supporting staff with benefit and policy interpretations and performing routine tasks around benefits, leave and employee relations. This position will be the primary driver of engagement and retention by providing valuable services to both management and employees, aligning with the organization's business objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
- Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring process, employment verification.
- Maintains integrity and confidentiality of all HR files and records.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, leave, wellness, separation, etc.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assists with processing of new hires and terminations.
- Encourages company culture by assisting with special events such as company-wide meetings, recognition events, social gatherings and celebrations.
- Prepares correspondence as requested.
- Maintain HRIS by updating the system, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- 1-3 years of human resource management experience preferred
- Professional HR Certification a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
