Job Description
General Job Duties
Learn to troubleshoot and install electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment and devices. Learn to read, interpret and program PLC languages, determine roots causes of repetitive equipment failures and develop preventative measures.
Specific Job Duties
- Learn to trouble shoot and repair electronics, hydraulics, pneumatic controllers, pneumatic devices and HVAC equipment.
- Learn to analyze equipment problems, determine root cause and implement permanent solutions.
- Learn to install conduit, electrical enclosures, electrical controllers, switches and other general electrical construction.
- Learn to perform general mechanical work including welding (Stick and MIG), pipe-fitting, equipment installation and fabrication work.
- Learn to perform general building and building systems repair such as plumbing, painting, general upkeep and preventative maintenance rebuilds.
- Learn to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on paint, molding and assembly equipment
- Report any abnormalities of tools, parts or equipment to the Supervisor.
- Help with loading and unloading of equipment or materials related to maintenance and facilities projects.
- Learn to lubricate and inspect equipment for defects.
- Accurately complete all forms and documentation as required including work orders and PO requests, etc.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area per 5S guidelines.
- Participate in 8D process and QOS when applicable.
- Participate in department meetings, submit cost reductions and innovative ideas.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills/Experience Require
Required:
- One year continuous work experience
Preferred:
- Experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
- Must be flexible to work shifts/hours being adjusted to accommodate training and other activities associated with the Apprentice Program.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills and work well with others as a team.
- Must be able to work at high elevations, confined spaces and also in high and low temperature conditions.
Educational Requirements
- Required - High School diploma or GED.
- Required - A.S. Degree in a Maintenance Technology or related field, or concurrent enrollment in a degree program per the Apprenticeship Agreement.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to at least meet the physical demands as defined by the current production requirements and the job function evaluation. See job function evaluation in the Occupational Nurse’s office for more details.
- Manufacturing environment requires the knowledge and use of special safety precautions.
